The Vintage Plate
I love how vintage dishes bring a sense of history and personality you simply can’t find in something new. While antiquing for the Spring HOME SUPPLY Co. Box, I came across a stack of the prettiest little plates — and the light bulb went off. They would be the perfect vintage item for the box! (because in every box there is a little bit of vintage!)

As I hunted and gathered the small plates, I looked for pretty patterns, classic white ironstone, and soft, dreamy colors. The plates came from all over the world — France, England, Japan, Portugal, and the USA. Many had maker’s mark stamped on the back; a quick Google image search can often tell you more about its story. But, what do you do with 1 vintage plate?... well, my advice... collect more! ;) Here are a few ideas of how to use one or many vintage plates.

A small vintage plate is just right for holding soap and a brush near your kitchen or utility sink.

Use a plate for jewelry or perfume on your bedroom dresser.

Setting a vintage plate under a potted plant helps protect furniture and placing one under a faux plant makes it seem real!

I keep a couple of stacks of plates in the counter... the small ones for snacks or toast in the morning and larger ones for meals. They are not only pretty, but practical and convenient too!
