Strawberry Fields Forever (…and Always with Whipped Cream!)
It wouldn't be summer with out strawberries! — and in my family that means strawberry shortcake!
In this summer’s HOME SUPPLY Co. box, we leaned all the way into a sweet Strawberry Fields theme. Nestled inside the box was one hard-working basket — perfect for those fresh-baked shortcakes. We paired it with mini dessert bowls reminiscent of antique crockery — but, any bowl will do! After all it's about the shortcake!
And tucked into every box, as always, was a seasonal activity card. This time: my favorite EASY strawberry shortcake recipe.
I like my shortcakes warm from the oven, topped with chopped up strawberries (my mom's vintage biscuit cutter chops them just right!) and a little or a lot of half-and-half cream. But when I shared a shortcake with my grandson, he had one very important edit — whipped cream is a must. And in his words: “Always eat the whipped cream first!” (I mean, how could I argue with that?)
This summer, whether you're picking strawberries, baking with loved ones, or just enjoying the slower rhythm of the season!
If you are a subscriber) I hope this box added a little summer joy to your home.
But, you don't have to be a subscriber to enjoy this sweet summer dessert!
Here's the recipe!
And if you haven’t already — go ahead and bake those shortcakes. Warm them up, add berries and cream, and maybe even a dollop (or three) of whipped cream. Just don’t forget to eat the whipped cream first!
Don't let strawberry season pass you by!
