Holiday Paper Placemats - Not just for Setting the Table
Have you ever wondered what to do with paper placemats? I always see beautiful artwork on them but, we don't host at Christmas time so I don't have a need for them. When I found these I thought it was my chance to buy some and put them in the November HOME SUPPLY Co. Quarterly Subscription Box!
And since my farm table was full of HSCo. boxes to pack I couldn't take photos of a full table setting. I had to think outside-the-box of how to use these pretty placemats. I think I came up with a few good ideas!... I'm sure you can come up with more!
1.
You don't have to set an entire table to use paper placemats. Place just one to ground a display. Over lap them and place down the center of a dining table, a buffet or kitchen island. It not only adds interest, it will protect your furniture with whatever you set on top!
2.
Use paper placemats for shelf liners! Since these particular placemats were round it made the cutest scallop along the shelf edge. I folded them on one side for the desired length to hang over the front of the shelf. Then I folded the other side to fit the depth of the shelf. I then trimmed off the sides to fit the length of the shelves. Confused yet? It's not hard! Give it a try!
On the bottom shelf I folded the placemats straight across on two sides to fit the depth of the shelf. Doesn't Mr. Moo look so handsome among the antique bottle brush trees? A little red bow dresses him up for the holidays!
3.
Paper placemats are great for wrapping gifts too! Since these had black paper they were perfect for writing on them. Chalk, chalk pencil or a chalk pen work great! Round placemats like these only work with small gifts.
If you are a HSCo. Box friend I hope you have found ways to use the pretty paper placemats. Of course you can always set the table with them too!
