A Little Bit of Vintage in Every Box: The Charm of Floral Glassware

A Little Bit of Vintage in Every Box: The Charm of Floral Glassware

Vintage Floral Glassware

Every HOME SUPPLY Co. box includes a little something vintage… This season, tucked into the Strawberry Fields box, was a pretty glass—each one sourced from antique stores, thrift shops, and vintage markets across Nebraska! That's a lot of pretty glasses!

A Bit of Glassware History…

These charming glasses were often given away in sets during the 1940s–1970s—often as a bonus for buying things like flour, peanut butter, or even gas! Companies like Federal Glass, Hazel-Atlas, and Anchor Hocking created floral-printed tumblers that became everyday staples in kitchens across America. Cheerful patterns, bright and pastel blooms made these practical drinking glasses, pretty too!

Today, they’re fun collectibles for vintage lovers and nostalgic decorators alike. I can remember as a child having a few of them in our pink, yes! PINK kitchen! Including the wallpaper and the telephone!

What Can You Do with Vintage Glasses?

You don’t need a full matched set to enjoy them! One glass or a miss matched set can go a long way in adding charm to your space. Here are a few creative ideas:

  • Parfaits or sundaes (just tastes better in a pretty glass!)

  • Mini flower vase for your kitchen windowsill

  • Pencil or paintbrush holder for your desk or craft corner 🎨

  • Display a collection on a shelf for a pop of vintage charm

  • Gifts or party favors —filled with wrapped candies, a small bouquet or gift card

Why I Included It...

The idea of vintage glasses was suggested by a good friend who loves vintage!... and happens to be a subscriber also! I thought it was a wonderful idea and would be an easy and fun item to hunt for! Fun yes!... but, easy??? lol! After I cleared out all the shops and markets near me I enlisted some friends from other areas to help! I think the grand total of glasses we found was 90!

Since this box was all about the sweet, simple joys of summer—slow mornings, sweet berries, and flowers blooming. Including a piece of the past felt like the perfect way to bring that story to life. —and nothing tells a story or brings back a memory quite like a vintage treasure.

Hope this gives you inspiration to start a collection of your own!

p.s. for neutral lovers... there are all white patterns too!
